Date Night Wheel-Throwing class

Get ready—this class is a blast. No experience necessary, just come ready to try something new and have fun! It’s our most popular class for a reason: you get to throw on the wheel, make a tumbler or bowl, laugh a lot, and sip whatever you bring (BYOB). We also set you up with a charcuterie board and snacks so the whole night feels like an experience, not just a class.

In this 2–2.5 hour class, you’ll learn the basics of wheel throwing: how to center your clay, pull up walls, and shape a simple form. Then you’ll decorate your pieces using ceramic decals. At the end, choose your glaze color and we’ll take care of all firing and finishing. Your pieces will be ready for pickup in a few weeks.

What Will You Make?

Because Date Night is an introduction to wheel throwing, there is no single predetermined project. With step-by-step instruction, you’ll learn the basics of working on the pottery wheel and create your own functional piece.

Depending on how your piece develops on the wheel, you may create a tumbler (without a handle), bowl, matcha bowl, small catch-all/ashtray, scalloped bowl, or a similar form. Since wheel throwing is a skill that develops with practice, we can’t guarantee a specific shape during a one-time class—but with plenty of guidance, you’ll create a beautiful piece that is uniquely yours.

After throwing, you’ll personalize your pottery using underglaze decals—ceramic transfers featuring words, illustrations, patterns, and designs. With hundreds to choose from, you’ll have plenty of options to make your finished piece feel completely your own.

Price: $215 per couple

Trinket Shelf Hand-building Workshop with Let Me Know Club

Come build your own ceramic trinket shelf from scratch! In this fun and creative 3-hour hand-building workshop, you’ll choose from two shelf designs, and I’ll guide you step-by-step through building your piece—no previous pottery experience needed!

Choose between a classic trinket shelf, perfect for displaying your favorite tiny treasures and keepsakes, or a jewelry trinket shelf featuring two built-in shelves and hanging spots for necklaces, bracelets, and more.

You’ll also have the option to add a hole at the top so your shelf can hang on the wall or keep it freestanding to display on a dresser or tabletop. There will be a little room for customization while we build, but the designs will remain fairly structured so everyone can complete their shelf during the workshop.

At the end, you’ll choose your favorite glaze color, and BabyFace Studio will handle the rest—drying, firing, and glazing your finished piece so it’s ready for pickup in a few weeks!

This workshop is open to everyone, especially beginners. Just bring yourself and your favorite tiny treasures in mind! ✨

Try-It Wheel Throwing Classes

Curious about pottery but not ready to commit to a full course? Our Try-It Classes are the perfect way to dip your hands into the clay and experience the magic of wheel throwing—no experience necessary!

In this fun and informative 1.5-hour session, you'll get step-by-step guidance on how to use the pottery wheel. Learn how to center your clay, pull up walls, and shape a simple form like a cup or bowl. Afterward, you'll pick your favorite glaze color, and we’ll handle the rest—firing and finishing your piece so it’s ready for pickup in a few weeks.

These classes are great for individuals, friends, or anyone looking to try something creative and new. Just bring yourself and a sense of adventure!
